CARY HAGAN

President & CEO

Cary Hagan joined Intrinsic in 2011 from Wright Medical, where he served as Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations, for Europe, Middle East and Africa. He began his career at Wright Medical in 1989 and advanced through a series of Sales and Marketing positions with increasing responsibility. As Senior Director of Biologics, Cary was pivotal in the rapid growth of Wrights Orthobiologics program from “point zero” to market segment leader. Later as Vice President Marketing, Global OrthoRecon, he oversaw a turnaround in Wright’s Hip and Knee growth rates to roughly two times the industry average.

Cary completed undergraduate at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, with majors in both Business Administration & Economics. He later earned a Master’s in Business Administration at St. Louis University & Webster Universities, with a focus on International Business.

GREG LAMBRECHT

President & Founder and Executive Director

Prior to founding Intrinsic in 1999, Greg Lambrecht was a Vice President of Product Development & Marketing at Stryker, a global orthopedic implant company, where he directed the development and launch of numerous successful orthopedic implants. Greg also held various management positions in product and business development within Pfizer’s Medical Technology Group. The core of his career at Pfizer was implementing a process for inventing and developing new technologies that best met the needs of Pfizer’s physician customers worldwide.

Greg received a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1990 and returned to the same institution for a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1993. Greg holds numerous patents in the fields of gynecology, general surgery, cardiology, and orthopedics.

JACOB EINHORN

Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining Intrinsic in 2000, Jacob Einhorn was Director of Product Development for Nippon Stryker, the Japanese operating division of Stryker Corporation, a global medical device company focused on the orthopedic market, where Jacob was responsible for establishing Stryker’s first R&D presence in Asia.

Jacob received a Bachelor of Arts in Physics and Anthropology from the Johns Hopkins University in 1992. Following several years of consumer products research and consumer advocacy in Washington, DC, he received a Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MIT in 1997. Jacob holds numerous patents in the field of orthopedics and is an active mentor of budding med-tech entrepreneurs.

JACOB EINHORN

THOMAS HEER

Chief Financial Officer

Prior to joining Intrinsic, Thomas Heer was Director of Finance & Controller with Karl Storz Endoskope, a global manufacturer and distributor of endoscopes, medical instruments and devices, where he led the finance and accounting functions of the flexible endoscope operations in the US – Storz’s largest production facility outside of Germany – improving productivity and profitability during a period of tremendous growth.

Tom spent the previous 16 years in public accounting with Ernst & Young, including a 4 year ex-pat assignment in Stuttgart, Germany. Tom received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Marist College in 1989 and earned the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) title in 1991.

THOMAS MICHAL

Vice President Market Access, Health Economics & Reimbursement

Thomas Michal has over 2 decades of healthcare experience with an emphasis on market access, health economics, global reimbursement, and government relations. He is a recognized expert in coding, coverage, and payment initiatives in start-up environments, as well as enterprise-level biomedical firms. As a specialist in market access and early commercialization, Tom has been responsible for guiding company efforts in key global markets in an effort to drive innovative technology adoption. Prior to joining Intrinsic Therapeutics, Tom has held leadership positions with multi-national corporations, as well medical device start-ups – these organizations include: Smith & Nephew Endoscopy, Moximed Inc., Allina Health Systems, and Deloitte Consulting.

Tom completed his undergraduate work at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, obtaining a Bachelor of Science Degree. He later earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Rice University in Houston Texas, with a concentration in both Marketing and Finance.

IVO SCHEEPENS

Vice President Global Marketing

Ivo Scheepens joined Intrinsic in 2011 from Wright Medical, where he served as Vice President Marketing for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. He brings over 20 years of Sales and Marketing experience in the global orthopedic and spinal industry. 

Ivo started his career with Sofamor Danek, later Medtronic Spine, where he has held a number of Sales and Marketing management positions both in Europe and in the United States. Ivo was part of Medtronic’s global Marketing team who developed and brought to market their Minimal Access Spine Technologies (MAST) platform.

JASON CAUBLE

Vice President US Sales

Jason Cauble has served as Vice President, Sales since August of 2019 and is responsible for all commercialization efforts within the US market. Jason has over 20 years of senior commercial leadership experience in both large and early stage venture backed medical device companies, with a focus on selling innovative and disruptive technologies, including recent stints with Relievant Medsystems, SI Bone and Kyphon.

As VP of Sales at SI Bone, he was instrumental in building out the US sales organization and leading rapid growth of over $40 million in revenue from the ground level within the first few years of commercialization. Jason also brings international experience to Intrinsic, including a posting as Business Unit Director for the United Kingdom (Kyphon), and began his medical device career with US Surgical Corporation, holding various roles of increasing responsibility in sales and sales management.

REGINA SHIH

Vice President Regulatory

Regina (Gina) Shih brings more than 20 years of progressive experience in Regulatory Affairs and Quality across all classes of medical devices as well as pharmaceuticals, and combination products. Throughout her career in Regulatory Affairs and Quality, Gina has held roles of increasing responsibility focused on domestic and international regulatory strategies, organizational development and cross functional integration involving international sectors.

Her career history includes leadership roles in Johnson & Johnson, Ximedica, Apatech (Baxter), Exactech, C.R. Bard (BD), and most recently BVI Medical where she held the position of Vice President of Global Quality and Regulatory Affairs. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from University of Florida; a Master of Science degree in Food Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and an MBA from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

KYRIACOS SPENTZOS

Vice President Education & Distribution Development

Kyriacos Spentzos joined Intrinsic in 2012 from OrthoMedical SA, where he served as Managing Director and Founding Partner managing 70 employees and an annual turnover of $30M from three specialized Business Units targeting innovative technologies in Orthopedics. He began his career at J&J Professional in 1993 and brings more than 20 years of Sales and Marketing experience in Orthopedics, Biologics, and Spine.

Kyriacos received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Lafayette College in 1990 (Easton PA, USA) and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde in 1993 (Glasgow, Scotland).

KELSEY MILLER-TORCHIA

Vice President of Clinical Affairs

Kelsey Miller-Torchia joined Intrinsic in 2011 from Impliant, where she served as their Marketing Manager overseeing their US IDE, and clinical trials in Brazil, Israel and Belgium. Kelsey brings with her over 17 years of global clinical trial experience in the spinal industry. 

Kelsey started her career in academics with The Boston Spine Group at the renowned New England Baptist Hospital. There she developed and managed their patient registries as well as managed their investigator and IDE clinical trials.  Kelsey has a BA in South East Asian Studies and Religion from Tufts University.

OSCAR C. YEH

Co-Founder, Vice President Research & Development

Oscar Yeh joined Intrinsic in 2004 and was initially responsible for the pre-clinical evaluation of the Barricaid in benchtop, cadaveric, and animal testing. He has held multiple roles within Intrinsic and is currently responsible for research efforts stemming from the clinical and radiographic data collected in the Barricaid randomized clinical trial.

Oscar joined Intrinsic from the University of California, Davis Medical Center where he collaborated on basic science research projects within the Orthopaedic Surgery department. Research efforts included the response of musculoskeletal tissues to mechanical loading through the use of animal models, biomechanical testing, histology, finite element analysis, and constitutive modeling.
